Cecille Beers

Cecille is a post-baccalaureate researcher hosted through the NSF-funded Rare Plant RaMP network. Her work focuses on concentration efforts concerning the Florida torreya and developing strategies to help mitigate the spread of fungal disease of this endemic conifer. Hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Cecille received her BS in Biology at The University of Puerto Rico Piedras, where she also studied fungal pathogens of coffee trees. Her favorite place in the botanical garden is the Tropical High Elevation House!
